Re-opening on a dinner, bed and breakfast basis
We are delighted to be back open again and extending a warm welcome to our guests. Our team is busy implementing new procedures to ensure guest safety.
Like many other businesses we have had to make some difficult decisions and significant changes to adhere to Government guidelines.
Due to restrictions imposed on us, we will only be able to accommodate guests on a dinner, bed and breakfast basis.
Unfortunately, we will not be serving Sunday Lunch or non residents for dinner over the coming months. This is a temporary decision and we will continue to monitor this closely. We do sincerely apologise for any inconvenience caused and we look forward to resuming full service at MacNean House as soon as it is safe to do so.
Our reservation lines are now open from 10am Monday to Friday and are closed for bookings on Saturdays and Sundays. We do experience high volumes of calls at certain period throughout the day, so we do appreciate your patience when trying to get through to our representatives. We are taking bookings on a two year rolling basis and therefore our midweek bookings are now available from February 2021 and our weekends are available from February 2022.

Experience the best food and hospitality Ireland has to offer at Neven Maguire’s award-winning MacNean House & Restaurant. Blacklion is nestled in the picturesque foothills of the Cuilcagh Mountains, Co. Cavan, near to the MacNean Lakes that give the restaurant its name.
Neven has always enjoyed teaching and the Neven Maguire Cookery School is the fulfillment of a long-time ambition. The purpose-built cookery school is located beside MacNean House & Restaurant and features a range of exciting cookery classes which Neven teaches to all skill levels.
Neven’s “Chef’s Table” is ideal for special occasions, celebrations, anniversaries and private events. Neven and his team cook the MacNean Tasting Menu before diners and serve with specially selected wines; with Neven and his sommelier on hand to introduce each course and answer queries.
