Award-winning chef Neven Maguire fulfilled a long-held dream to open his first cookery school in 2014. The Neven Maguire Cookery School is located beside MacNean House & Restaurant in Blacklion, Co. Cavan.

The state-of-the-art cookery school features a range of exciting cookery classes for all skill levels. Classes are fun and informal and are purposely kept small to ensure the best learning experience with individual guidance, support and assistance from Neven and his dedicated team.

All classes are taken by Neven himself, with top tips on sourcing the best ingredients and produce, as well as tours of MacNean House & Restaurant’s extensive vegetable and herb collections with resident gardener, Kevin Ashley.

Classes include both hands-on learning and demonstrations by Neven and his team. With recipes specially selected, popular themes include ‘Entertainment Made Easy’, ‘Cooking for Friends and Family’, ‘Christmas Made Easy’, a two day ‘Home Chef’ class and the popular ‘Parent and Child’ class.

The class will include a wine and cheese tasting with Gilbey’s Gold Medal Best Wine Experience sommelier Blaithin McCabe.

Classes then enjoy lunch of their own creation. Everyone takes home a goodie bag including a special certificate of attendance. Students get an opportunity to take their days work home to show off to their  family and friends!
